South Windsor's Eddie Havens never allowed defeats in his first two town council races to discourage him from continuing to run for office - again.  Good thing for him - and the town. Nearly 60 years after his first foray in town politics, the 96-year-old Havens stands as the town's all-time leader - elected to 19 council terms and four terms as mayor. For the unassuming Havens, it was never about the political prestige or power - it was always about the people he served, he said.
