About this Module

How do we know what we know about Native Americans?  How did their lives change over time?  Archaeologist Bonnie Plourde will explain how we learn about the past.  Then, travel through time as you learn about the history of Native Americans in southern New England through the Paleo, Archaic and Woodland periods.  What similarities and differences existed between these periods, and how do they compare to today?  How did Native Peoples adapt to the changing envrionment around them?

Meet the Educator

Bonnie Plourde (BA Anthropology, Minor Archaeology, Honors Program Scholar, Lambda National Honors Society) has served as Lead Archaeologist on a variety of Connecticut sites and specializes in presenting technology and archeological techniques to students of all ages in order to further the understanding of New England’s Native Peoples.
